This huge stainless steel sink just fits in the space.  Donated by "The Beef Corporation", Virgil and volunteers set the sink in place.  Virgil lead the team of helpers to get it connected and working.  Virgil inspects and documents the teams work before approving it for use.  Thank you Virgil.  Thank you "The Beef Corporation". 

Atlas Broadband upgrades wireless Internet

Atlas Broadband upgrades the radios on the big antenna.  The upgrade gives Black Dog Fire Department a more reliable Internet connection and faster speed.  Atlas Broadband donates the Internet service to the Fire Department.  Thank you Atlas Broadband!

The new kitchen at the Fire Station allows for a new tradition.  Fresh baked goods are now offered at the Annual Yard Sale.  Nothing like the smell of Cinnamon Rolls baking.  Come inside and savor the smell!

Firehouse Subs donates Jaws of Life!

Firehouse Subs supports rural fire departments by donating 0.11 percent of all sales to rural fire departments.  Black Dog Fire Department submitted paperwork to receive one of the grants and was awarded about $16,000 to purchase these battery powered Jaws of Life. Thank you "FIREHOUSE SUBS". 

ISO "5" Awarded to Black Dog Fire!

After many years of planning, work, and equipment acquisitions, Black Dog Fire Department is awarded ISO"5".  Rating becomes official on July 1, 2016. Contact your Insurance Company and tell them to download the ISO Letter.

South Wall Repairs

Repairs on the South Wall are underway.  The old siding has been removed and hauled away.  Long lasting metal siding will cover the wall. 

Roof repairs begin!

David and Ryan start repairs on the roof.  Roof repairs should only take a few days.  Then some outside walls will be covered with metal.  Metal on the roof and walls should last for many trouble free years.

 

Lights go On!

Security lights are on!  Bridgepoint Electric installed energy efficient LED Floodlights at Black Dog Fire Department.  These LED lights use about 15% of the power that incandescent lights use.  They have a useful life of over 20 years.  On dark nights these lights will provide safety and security.

Voters annex Osage Hills Area.

November 10, 2015

Voters in the Osage Hills Fire District approved a proposition to allow the Black Dog Fire District and Osage Hills Fire District to merge.  The area of responsibility for Black Dog FD now includes the Osage Hills area.

100 Foot antenna.

With this new 100 foot antenna, Firefighters may communicate better in emergency situations.  With new radios and tower Firefighters communicate with other Firefighters and support crews. The new radio system gives Firefighters complete coverage with no "dark" spots.  Effective communications help save property and lives.
